The Trinity Arts Festival is held annually in June. The Festival, whose patron is internationally renowned composer Karl Jenkins, includes concerts, recitals, theatrical productions, literary events, art exhibitions, as well as competitions for soloists. There are vocal competitions, which includes the Stuart Burrows International Voice Award, which offers £5,000 to the winning soloist. Students are also involved in a fringe festival which gives them the opportunity to organise and take part in the events with the help of the Festival team. In addition, there are a number of Arts events involving students and professional artistes arranged throughout the year.
The 2008 International Golden Nightingale Choral Festival is an exciting addition to the array of events held at Trinity.
A new Cultural Enterprise Centre has opened at the College to provide an administrative and rehearsal base for Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, the National Welsh Language Theatre Company. The centre also provides space for new creative businesses, enabling students and graduates of the College to take advantage of the opportunity to start their own companies and receive expert advice and guidance from Trinity’s Development Unit and associates. The College is also the administrative base for the Chamber Orchestra of Wales.
Each year, the Festival organisers will invite an International panel of Judges to the events, and the Festival is open to Choirs throughout the World. |
